What we have here is a band that is very versatile. "We all had our own bands and ran into each other around town", says Baja Bob Mendoza (rhythm guitar). "We agreed to give this a try. I got voted to handle the promotional aspect of POUND DOG. With band members coming from Missouri, New Mexico, San Diego and Santee, we all have such different styles. It either was going to work or be a train wreck."

It worked. This melding of styles has really evolved into a very smooth and eclectic variety of music. POUND DOG can play surf music then slide into the hard driving beat of Latin style rhythms. Of course, good old classic rock and roll is their mainstay. Rufus Perry provides powerful lead vocals and guitar, combined with the talents of Pete Bogle (drummer), Jack Stephens (lead guitar - slide, sax & vocals ), Bruce Crossly (bass guitar & vocals), & of myself Bob "Baja Bob " Mendoza (rythym guitar & vocals)

Collectively they have over a hundred years musical experience. The sound can be enhanced with the addition of horns and female vocalist. POUND DOG has the ability to play from small venues to corporate shows.
